Name that noise
I seem to have a ticking noise but sounds kinda like an exhaust leak tick to me. Its coming from the right side and from under the hood or so it sounds. It only does it while in gear and driving. The moment you put pop it into neutral or step on the clutch you dont hear it anymore.
Its only while accelerating also. I put the truck up on jack stands and ran it like that but it didnt make the noise. So i am guessing it needs resistance to do it. While accelerating hard its alot more noticable. Sometimes u can barely hear it. its really noticable between 1200-2000rpms then after that the engine seems to drowned out the noise or so i think. Any ideas?

Drive down a straight road and put it in 4x4 and see if the noise changes, gets worse, gets better,
transmission falls out and lands on the ground.
Basing this on the fact that you have a 2002, and if it is a later 2002, you have the constantly turning front driveshaft.

i had a noise like that once, it would come and go. come to find out it was the air intake box bolts were loose and couldnt be tighten. so i added a few washers and tightened them as much as i could and the noise stopped.

which gears or something drivetrain related it should increase with speed not rpms. This is linked with rpms. Ill check the air box and exhaust manifold again. I hate looking for exhaust leaks....
