Must I set VP44 timing?

I just replaced my VP44, I have a Haynes manual - it says to have a dealer adjust the timing. Can I drive it to the dealer after I complete the installation? If it runs & starts ok does the timing need adjusting?

no adjustment. Your pump is fine. your ecm is taking care of the timing.

Thanks,
Jason

The timing of the VP44 is electronically controlled by the ECM based on the numerous sensors that feed it information. Put the pump on, bleed the air out and you're good to go!
