More auto trans problems
I have a 01 with 100,000 miles. Last year I started getting 2nd gear starts. I took it to Coleman Taylor in Memphis and they put in a gov. pressure selenoid and sensor. It woked fine till about a month ago and I can't pulloff fast in D or it will slip and grab, makes a noise like a fan belt slipping. I can pull it down to 1st and does fine. the rest of the shifts are ok. Is the transducer the same thing as a sensor. Thanks

Believe you have extracted all the life out of tranny and i's on borrowed time. Hopefully just enough for it to get to reputable tranny shop on it's own.
Have you checked the tranny fluid in last six months??

I'm not ready to give up on this one. The trans shop I took it to last year said the pan was very clean and I check the fluid weekly. It looks good, smells good and taste great. As I find out more about these trucks and there problems I learn more. I called the trans shop and asked if they adusted the bands, he said no. I have heard that when you change the gov pressure selenoid you must also change the transducer. The shop said they changed the sensor. Is that the same thing?

It won't take off well in drive but pull down into manual low and it takes off. Then shift normal. Do you have to repeat the procedure the next time you stop?? I fthe answer is yes - the one way roller clutch inside tranny has been whupped upon. It will get worse and more expensive to repair as more time goes by.
If the answer is no - you are not describing the issue well enough to daignois. What does it do backing up??

The typical issue with not shifting down into low at stop is the governor pressure solenoid(round thingie hanngind down on VB.)
The governor pressure transducer(sensor is the black odd shaped item on the same part as solenoid. It is a good bet the parts are bad. Hope you haven't burn the tranny up trying to do second or third gear starts.
Both these items are recomended replacement at same time as problematic to determine which in some instances.
You said slips and grabs when takingoff. That throws confusion into issue. Most say fells like taking off in 3rd gear.
