While I agree that it's probably harmless, it's probably not doing what you explain above. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that two unlike viscosity polymers when mixed together become a unique third polymer. I think when you mix the two together, they stay separate. So you don't end up with what you propose above, but an oil with a non linear viscosity curve in response to heat.
