So I'm currently looking at a 99' with 130K miles that also has an edge chip . Is it somthing to worry about buying a used vechicle thats chiped? It's also got beefed up injectors , and new IP .

Im new to dodges , and looking to buy my first one , any help would be great . Also whats going price for this year with these mods?

Check and see if the 53 block is cracked.
If not go for it.

How much $$$?

Is it cherry or thrashed?

Look it up at NADA for price. Nothing wrong with a chip, a EZ or Comp? Does it have gauges? get a fuel pressure if not! A new IP is a plus!!! $1500 with labor.

Thanks guys , he wants 17$ for it , it has pyro/fuel pressure/boost gauges . From the pics its mint . fully loaded .

Its on the other side of the country though lol . Whats up with this 53 block crack thing? Is that a common problem on 99's? Being so far away theres no way I can check this out , other than talk to the guy and feel him out for honesty , and thats if he's even aware of somthing .

I've been looking for some time now , and I see 2001 models going for that price , but this truck is exactly what i want color , long bed , gauges , and some new parts . . . am i just gettin antzy?

My 99's NADA retail was 19k and 16k trade in with 230k on it! I sold it local for between the two.
What side of the country maybe someone on this site is close and can take a look for you.
The 53 block could crack because of a poor casting, usually around the frost plugs on the side of the block. I doubt that with over 100k it would crack now, they usually crack earlier, less miles than that.

I would rather buy a truck exactly what I want than settle for a cheaper one that isn't what I want.

I'm in PA and there is a 99 auto with 52K for $17500 and a 98 12 valve 5-speed with 200k for $13500 both are nice trucks, but of course the 99 is in better cond. Right now is the time to buy, not much buying/selling going on right before Xmas.
