OK I guess it is reading in a different measurement then. That makes alot of sense. I was confused for awhile on that but didnt realize that.
Thks!

The Scangauge just pukes out a number. It is the ECM that sets the engineering units. Anyways, thats my guess as I really don't know for sure.

Yep..that's about what my '02 reads. I didn't know the reason for this but start counting everything above this figure to get the "real" boost pressure.

Those with ScanGauge should check all the sensors to get a baseline figure to start from. My IAT and Water temp, for instance, show the same number first thing in the morning. This reading will also be darn close to an outside thermometer. Tells me their both working right. If one of the sensors is off one day I'll know it's time for a change and not have to wait for 6 months of low mileage to tip me off.

ScanGauge is a neat little tool. Get a feel for what all the normal readings are and a bad sensor or reading should jump right out at you.

OK so we found out the 99 98 and the 2000+ read different.

I thought something was wrong with my 99 and my bro 02.

This thread got me to watching MAP again. What are you guys seeing maximum on the ScanGauge with or with out a tuning box (boost fooler)?

I am seeing 37.3, but my TST is clipping it.

The 98 and 99 MAP will max out at 50 psi. This is where the output voltage reaches 4.5 volts. On 2000 and up trucks the MAP will max out at about 37 psi also at 4.5 volts. So the maximum voltage of 4.5 limits the maximum range of the MAP sensor.

Yeah, that would be about 15 psi boost. The TST must clip lower than the Comp, I am guessing 5-10 psi boost.

Mine reads 14.9 at idle. What I don't understand is the wild fluctuations in the MPG. I took a 100-mile round trip with the cruise on and kept getting readings anywhere from 28 MPG to 9999 MPG when I let off the pedal. I have the thing set for Diesel a and 5.9 liter engine. The only time it would pull down to what looked normal was under acceleration. When I stopped it would read 0 MPG and taking off, it would read 2 or 3 MPG. Other readings look normal, temp, RPM, MPH.

You have to set the tank size and follow the instructions for each fillup to have accurate mileage figures. It took me a couple of fillups before my mileage read correctly. Be sure your speed correction factor is set properly, too.
