map/boost sensors..they DO go out
if your truck is feeling sluggish and your getting poor fuel mileage, or maybe your electronic gauges arent reading right..dont rule out your boost sensor. I have owned several vehicles and never gave much thought to them going out. i tried for days to track down boost leaks only to come up empty handed. I even called edge and got a replacement unit because i didnt think it was reading my boost right (always showed 0).
so monday morning i placed an order with Holsie diesel. tuesday evening it was waiting on my door...big props to them for excellent shipping, not to mention sensors at half of what the dealer charges.
and now...holy ish! the truck just screams now, boost #'s are reading, and i picked up 2-3mpg easy. it is now as fast as i thought it should have been all along...i knew things werent right.
so dont rule them out, they can and do fail. also its worth mentioning that the new units (at least from holsie) are smaller so the same socket you use to take off the old unit will not work to tighten up the new unit, not by a long shot.
