Manual Hubs

First things first, this site has got too be the best when it comes for info on these trucks. So I thought this would be a perfect time to ask a question. I am looking for a conversion kit to put manual hubs on my 02 3/4 ton Ram. I thought I read somewhere in this forum about somebody making a kit. I have an 01 one ton, this has the sliding clutch disconnect. The 02 has no provision for it the whole front end w/drive shaft is spinning all the time. Thanks for your time, this site has helped me in the past with my 01.

EMS, Dynatrack, couple of others, and user Bark here posted a homebrew method using Furd parts.

Search should show up multiple threads.

EMS is half the price of a dynatrac setup. I plan to go with an EMS in the near future.

Unless Im mistaken, the ford has the dif on the opposite side of the axle. Inother words, the short shaft is on the other side.

Thats only if you have a first gen dodge. Fords have always had their diffs on the driverside, and dodge and gm picked it up later. Lance D swapped in a complete Ford D60, and he broke even by selling his old parts.

did lance post anything explaining the changeout.

using a complete axle makes the most sense of all the options. but mine is a second gen 96. what axle if any are available for this conversion?

maybe... I'm better off going with a EMS kit

Lance has a page showing how he put his in a second gen. After seeing what he went through, I decided it wasn't worth it and I already have a 79 high pinion Furd axle complete.

I don't know how I found Lances page though, perhaps I googled Dana 60 Ford Dodge conversion?

found it... http://www.pavementsucks.com/tech/dana60swap.php

it's not worth it... looks like EMS is the ticket. but still trying to verify mileage gains... if any

some say none... some say 3-4 mpg gains.... what gives?
