Mag Hy-Tec tranny pan install question!
I'm getting ready to install the Mag-Hytec pan on my truck. Since it's Saturday, I don't think I can call Mag-Hytec to ask my question. As all of you 47re owners know, the pan mounting surface on the tranny is not completely solid, flat and smooth; it has indentations in it at various points. I'm sure that the gasket that came with the Mag-Hytec pan will work fine ( it seems a little thin to me); I was thinking about using the Dodge gasket since it is much thicker and will compensate for the indentations. I bought a new Dodge gasket when I bought the tranny filter. I was wondering if anyone else has used the Dodge gasket with the Mag-Hytec pan. By the way, the Mag-Hytec instructions specify not to use a cork gasket since it will not hold up well with aluminum to aluminum contact. The Dodge gasket is definitely not cork. Thanks.

I have droped my pan 4 times now for new filters and fluid changes, and am still useing the first gasket supplied by Mag Hytec. So use the rubber compound one or the dodge one. Also the older 727 dodge filter is a better filter than the stock one that came on my 2002.
