Lp/Ip advice
Hello all, new here to the DTR forum. Usually browsing over at DodgeTrucks.org. Anyway, thinking about upgrading to a used Dodge 2500 and of course the year range that I want(98.5 to 2001) seem to have lp/ip problems. I have read on this site about Fass,Big Line Kits,Holley Blue,Vulcan Kits etc. What I need is some expert advice as to what I need to do if/when I purchase one. Thanks in advance. Buy the way, way cool site.

Welcome to DTR
Bout time you stopped trolling around and join the crowd!
You should test any prospective truck by measuring the fuel pressure with a simple 1/8" NPT pressure guage ($5.00) and screwing it into the top of the fuel canister. This will tell you if it has fuel pressure. If it is above 14 you should be good to go until you install an incab guage the NEXT FREAKIN WEEKEND!
The guage will help you monitor the fuel pressure in the system and feed the VP-44 all it can handle. When it does start to drop below 5 WOT or 10 cruise time to install a FASS II or Walbro.
Again welcome, and fill out your signature, even if you are looking for a truck.

You can do that on some truck but not all. 98.5-99 and maybe 00 you can check at the fuel canister. 01-02 have to be tested at the vp schrader valve. Not totally sure on the years. A heathy supply of fuel to the vp is important even more so as the bombing takes hold and drains you dry... welcome to the DTR.

Also as I learned after I bought my truck, turn the key 3 times and leave the ignition 'on', and look for any codes in the odometer window. If you owned a Dodge I'm sure you know what I'm refering to....
My 01' has the schraeder valve on the IP to screw a gauge to.
