low fuel pressure
Whats up all. New to site. 1st post but lots of browsing, (I get off on this stuff). Any way got "in tank pump" from dealer with new vp maybe 3500mi ago. Truck has had low power ever since. dealer says no problem found. Added Juice/ attitude and truck runs better of course. Fuel pressure reads 6-7@ idle Eastily down to 2-0@wot. Any suggestions. Have ordered vulcan kit to relieve banjo pressure but dont think it will be enough.

Welcome to DTR, many have experienced low fuel pressure with the "intake pump" including my dad. I mounted a holley blue pump on his frame right below the fuel tank to help his fp. Now its upwards of 20 psi and he cant bring it down past 17 at WOT. this is what i would do if i were you IMHO. 100 bucks at autozone. Its cheap insurance on your new vp44!

go to autozone, pick you up a holley blue. Then pick up two 3/8 npt x 3/8 barb fittings and a tubing cutter and a foot of 3/8ths hose. You'll need a drill and a drill bit too. Crawl under your truck and cut about a foot of the hard line (the bigger one, not the return) and chunk it. Then install your fittings into your blue, then install the blue on the truck. Stick the fuel line from the hard stock line to the barb fittings on both ends. Tighten your hose clamps and ground the black wire to one of the mounting bolts. Run the hot wire to the fuse box and find a hot source that is only hot when the key is on. Presto - great fuel pressure
i know it sounds like a long wright up but it is very very simple. good luck!

Go big or go home...
No really... I've done both the Big Line kit and Campaign pump and I'm happy with the results... 15 @ idle, 13 @ cruise, 12 @ WOT. These were the pressure when first installed. My pump is getting a bit of slack. But since the campaign pump is only $50 bucks no problem to replace... Even better yet... The pump is on the frame rail...

Installed big lie kit and replaced f/ filter. Fuel pressure now 8-9 at idle but will only drop1-2psi @wot. So I am pleased w/ results. I know that this is still low bnut my baby seems happier than she did.

Try this link to Edit Signature.
Normal route is to click on User CP (User Control Panel) link on the menu bar above this thread, then click on Edit Signature.
I'll bet there are other ways to buy a truck in the UK, but probably the easiest would be to buy one from someone in the US Military assigned to the UK or Germany.

I take it your a brit in yankee land,a CTD in England? no problem bought mine on ebay two years ago and had it shipped
By the way theres plenty of posts on here about fuel pressure and keeping an eye on it.Consensus of opinion is that fitting a fuel pressure gauge is a must.

I had already installed the vulcan kit and gages after Dodge replaced the lp with an intank pump. At that time I had 11 @ idle 8.5 at WOT. This week those press. dropped by 1psi and filter change did not help. Today i installed the carter pump i had already bought from cummins on the frame rail. Now working in conjuction with intank pump, I see 25 at idle, 23 WOT. Looks like the best solution.
