a lot of questions???
I have a lot of questions i am hoping that somebody on here might know a little more about it than i do. First of all when i start my truck in the morning it runs real rough for a few mins and smokes white, and if i rev it up it has a little skip in it untill it runs for a few min. Second when im driving down the road and get on it hard to pass somebody it has a chatter, it runs strong but something isnt quite right. third thing is my water in fuel light comes on a lot and goes off. It mostly comes on when i start the truck. I keep my water/fuel drained so im not sure of the problem.

Sounds like water in your tank, mine did this on one tank of fuel, I changed out the filter, put in some power service and fresh fuel, it did clean up, I ran a couple more tanks of fresh fuel and changed out the filter again, it even thru a check engine light, which did go away after a 100 miles.

Ok thanks. It might be the problem I'm having. I have been running powerservice through it for a few tanks of fuel. I think I should go ahead and change my fass filters because I don't think they have been changed since who knows when.

As far as I know the FASS or Airdog units dont utilize the OEM water in fuel warning light wiring so if your water in fuel light is coming on then its because whomever installed the FASS and eliminated the OEM fuel housing didn't do a good job of wrapping up the wire connections for the WIF sensor. That is unless your OEM fuel filter housing is still in place but just not used. What I'm thinking you're problem is has nothing to do with water in the fuel but rather that your grid heaters are not working or not working properly. Thats why your engine is running like such garbage until its warmed up.

ok that makes since because i drove through a low water road crossing yesterday and as soon as i did the water in fuel light came right on. What is the best way to go about checking grid heater. Thanks alot so far.

Find the water in fuel sensor which is probably wrapped up in tape dangling somewhere located in the same area as the OEM fuel filter housing was. Then make sure its dry and do a better job of sealing it from the outside elements.
Here's a good read for your grid heaters too: http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/trouble...niford_htr.htm
