Yesterday when I home after driving approx. 40 miles I notice oil dripping from under my 1999 ram the the whole bottom was covered with oil. Checked oil level it was down 4 qts. Looked like it was coming from drivers side rear of engine anyone have any idea what happening.

Would anyone know where the crankcase vent on 99 ram
i think I found the problem. Had massive vaccum leak. I was told

the vaccum pump can act like compressor and pressurize the crankcase.

Crankcase vent is forward of the injection pump on the drivers side. Yours probably vents into the original puke bottle that is attached to the timing case. In any case, I don't think the vacuum pump can pressurize the crankcase unless your crankcase vent was completely plugged, piston ring blowby would be a bigger source of crankcase air. The crankcase vent is a ¾ inch hole with a tube attached to it.

Now, the vacuum pump can lose a seal which will cause an oil leak, and at the same time cause the vacuum pump to suck in air and blow it into the crank case. The vacuum pump normally sucks against the main vacuum line and "exhausts" to the crankcase. The shaft and vanes in that pump are lubricated by engine oil. There is an oil seal on the back of the vacuum pump shaft before it ties in to the power steering pump shaft.

The seal on my pump let go and I notice more crankcase blowby, and a noticeable oil drip, but not a massive leak. I lost maybe half a quart or so between oil changes before I replaced the seals on my pump.

Here is a picture of where the crankcase vent is. I rerouted my vent hose up and over the engine. This elimates a common problem where the radiator gets clogged up from the back as the fan moves the oil vapors around. The original vent sits behind the fan.
