Looking for Suggestions

I have a 2001 Dodge ram 2500 with the CTD. It is an automatix, 4x4. I was wondering if yall could give me some hints to help my beast live longer. I want to take any precautions that are known hassels when it comes to the CTD. My truck has 123,000 on it and thus far all I have done is have the solenoid pask in the tranny changed. it would not shift into first or overdrive. It would start in second, and shift to third but that was all.

I am just trying to get some ideas. Also considering upgrades such as a coldairintake to help with economy.

Welcome!! The first thing you need to do is get some gages in your truck , like fuel pressure, egt, and tranny temp. Those three are a must. If you don't keep an eye on the fuel pressure you might get the honor of replacing your VP-44 to the tune of about $1500 (from what I have read). If you decide to "bomb" your engine, start saving for a tranny too.

Yes you need to get a set of guages pyro, boost, trans temp. and fuel pressure watch the vitals. One more thing put some synthetic transmission fluid in your tranny.
