To check your over flow valve, used an air nozzle set for 15 psi, it should open. Less than that, it should stay closed. I replaced mine last week, and so far, so good on my hard starts.

For your exhaust manifold, I've got an ATS and am happy, but I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. I hear the HTT comes pre-assembled and pre drilled for pyro.

What lift pump do you have?

What lift pump do you have? It isn't the old mechanical diaphram pump run from the camshaft on the side of the block is it? If it's leaking back to the tank through the ball checks in the the pump, replace it. (they're cheap and easy to replace) If it's the electric can't you just cycle the key a couple of time to get the line recharged? Also, if it is the electric, the pump is warn out if the fuel is flowing back to the tank through it. Replace it. The engine might be good for two million miles, but you have to expect to replace abosultly everything else at least twice in theat time.

I just replaced lift pump with an OEM Carter. LP is not the problem. I have a leak around the fuel heater which is allowing the depriming. mcoleman just sent me a wire and said he has a filter assy. he'll let me have for $50. That should hold me over till I get a FASS..

I have a Holley blue pump and yes and can bump the starter, but I don't like doing that everytime I get in the truck. The past few weeks I've just been parking facing down a slope, no matter if it's big or tiny it works. I'll have more time to pry around when I'm done with finals.

seems this is a problem for a bunch of us. same thing here. once it is started after about 10 seconds run fine with about 12-14 psi. even run into the store and another 10 seconds starting things are fine. put a new lp pump on when all started. i work at a cummins marine dealer and none of the mechanices even have a clue. i would like to fix it & rub it in there face. thanks for such a great website !!!!!!!!!
