Lift pump Replacement??? Need Help!

Lift pump Replacement??? Need Help!
I am on the last leg of my lift pump. I want a better solution than to replace the stock one with a stock one. Does anyone sell a kit (all hoses, connectors, etc...) for the less mechanical types. I don't want to have to cut a bunch of wires and make homemade fittings/tubes work. I am under warranty and I am debating letting Dodge replace the stock with stock but that seems so futile. Any suggestions from those wiser than I???

Re:Lift pump Replacement??? Need Help!
I ain't no "wiser" than the next guy - but the latest revision pumps seem to be much better than the early ones, I'd go ahead and have the dealer install a new one under warranty, then do LOTS of reading on the many methods of applying "help" to the fuel system - I prefer the addition of a Carter pusher pump in the fuel line back near the tank - not all that hard, and the vast majority of guys doing it have had great success - I put mine on before I had 2000 miles on the truck - it;s now a year and 10000 miles later - no problems... ;D ;D

I believe Wldcat Diesel makes a kit, and I KNOW SmokinDiesel.com makes a kit. I bought my lines from them. I already had the fuel pump so I didn't buy it from them.

What you might do, is like Gary said, and get Dodge to replace what you have now, then immediately put in your upgrade, saving the "new" stocker as the backup. I don't know that the newer pumps are any better, but I like the idea of a backup.

The way I did my system I can fall back to the old pump by replacing one line and a fitting, if need be.
http://www.Stamey.nu/Truck/FuelPump.htm

Chris
Like was said back up there....let the dealer replace under warranty, and then depending on you hp and needs make some improvements. fp gauge to monitor psi, high flow banjo bolts and maybe larger lines and/or pusher pump.
FWIW, I installed 5 high flow banjo bolts at the same time I installed gauges. When towing heavy before I could take the fuel psi down to 6-7 Now with the high flow banjo bolts and towing 16000#, I have to work hard to get it below 9-10# ;D IMHO that has gotta let the lift pump last a little longer, and certainly will improve the life of the vp44.
wk

I must be living right. I have 136K on my original lift pump. I've ordered a new one just as a precaution. I have a remote starter I use everytime I start the truck and let it idle for 5-10 before I go anywhere. (unless it is warm already) Not a lot of heavy towing, but I do have a lead foot from time to time. I have read all of the posts about lift pumps and guys getting 30K miles or less. I must be living right.
