If you go to the Tech Facts section and go under the 24-valve, 2nd generation section they have a pretty good write up with tools, tips, etc.

The one that I wrote and submitted is in the tech facts section. It is step by every step and includes taking off the filter housing. I changed enough of them that got to where I could do the whole job in 40 (even along the road in November in Virginia when it was 28 degrees out) minutes run to run. Don't do it any more though, went to the FASS baby. Bye bye LP......

Lift Pump

I just bought an 01. The dealer I bought it from had to warranty the lift pump and Dodge has relocated the pump inside the tank. It works fine, however I really can't service this configuration as the tank now has to be dropped. What was less than an hour job is now a full weekend for a shade tree. I would recommend reloacing the pump to the frame rail. There are kits available from a number of resources. In addition, Dodge gets $380.00 for the tank kit in my neck of the woods. You should be able to relocate to the rail fo a couple hundred. Hope this helps.

I will relocate to the frame when warr is up. Picked up 3 pumps for $90 CDN each so I will put one on the engine now just incase my vp44 dies while under warr. Thanks guys.

That's why I carry this baby in the tool box at all times.
