leaving the country

hi guys my fiances cousin just bought a 2000 ram 2500 5 spd quad cab and is taking it to his farm in nicaragua. i told him he needs to take a few things like a f.p. gauge, lift pump, and fix the 5th gear nut. can you think of anything else he should have on hand? hes not going to upgrade it just wants to not have his truck down for weeks while he waits for parts you know? any help would be appreciated

The 4-2-1 is the filter kit from Genos...

4 oil filters, 2 fuel filters & 1 air filter I believe...

Yep. The idea is you change the fuel filter every other time you do the oil, and do the air once every 4 oil changes. Hence 4-2-1. BTW, they're all Fleetguard filters.

ummm... maybe a good supply of diesel treatment... don't know what the quality of diesel fuel is there?!

This is my 1st post , so for whatever it's worth......take starter contacts, brake caliper rebuild kits, a good reusable air filter like a proguard 7, and like the guy said a lift pump if not a FASS, he'll probably be able to get his Cummins and Fleetguard parts from the local Case Tractor Dealership.

Yeah, he may have been wiser to get a 12V since they are not near as picky on fuel quality. Can run a 12V on just about anything.
