Lagging 24 valve Cummins
Hello everyone I Just signed up and thought I would post my problem. Names Jim, I have a 2001 Dodge 24 valve Cummins diesel, 235 H.P. rated engine with the 47-RE automatic transmission. When I start the truck each day and drive away the truck lags, sputters down the road untill its up to full tempature then the problem goes away. The colder it gets outside the wrose the problem is, I just installed a FASS ddrp 02 lift pump, the problem is still present, the truck has 160,000 miles on it, with the original VP-44.
Thank you Jim.
Thank you Jim.

Alright I did what you said, It reads: P1694 then its says P done. I tryed this this twice and this it what it read both times. Also we have 12 volts and a ground to the air in take heater, but zero amp draw at either postive lead on the intake heater. My dad and I ran 12 volt direct to each stud on the heater and still no amp draw. We think the heater is bad.We hear the relays kicking on, the volts go from 12.9 to 11.9 when the wait to start light comes on, the volts go back to 12.9 when the wait to start light goes off. We have had 40 degree mornings. With the heater not working and the cool air entering the combustion chamber and a little white to gray smoke in the morning at start up, we thing this might be the lag.
Thanks again Jim
Thanks again Jim
