Killer dowel pin
Just wondering if the dowel pin is something I have to worry about in my 2001 H.O.? Have they fixed this problem? As well what is this weeping hole I am supposed to look at every oil change? Thanks

The KDP is not an issue with your '01. The weep hole is there merely to warn you when your pump is starting to go. You'll see some leakage before you're stuck somewhere.

Not to worry about the KDP.

Weep hole in water pump. Usually in the bottom of the "snout" or "neck". I just rub my finger across the hole to check for antifreeze. You can use an inspection mirror. ANY leakage means replace water pump immediately.

Stan

KDP problem on a 2001? I have been told it might be a problem on the early 2001's as they were stilling using some of the old style covers. How can you tell? Beats the heck out of me.
