I just put fuel pressure/boost/egt gauges in my 2010,6.7,Laramie. I pull 10 psi idling and 10 psi @ any rpm, seems to be a constant number for me on fuel psi. The fuel psi drops to 9 psi on throttle punch, but recovers immediately. I am running a water seperator and 3 micron Donaldson filter. The fuel sensor is located at the end of the filtration chain.

Short answer is no.

You want your 10 + at idel, no less that 5 ever.

Change your Fuel filter and see if anything changes.

really you should start saving up for a aftermarket lift pump.

fass and airdog make a direct replacement for 300$ or so.

I am going with the FASS DDRP and then remount on frame rail. I am also on a budget, the whole set up is 320 or so. You can get the no remount for 250.
I think the DDRP is 95.

On a stock truck is all you need, unless you plan on adding more fuel then go for a 150 gph

yea If you can pull it off I would say buy it! Bigger is allways better right!!!!!!

That way it will support your power needs for the future.

So you can run that all the way to the fuel filter housing, then put on a big line from the filter to the vp44.

or just run the pump to the vp44.

OEM lift pumps are regulated at 15 psi but have proven time and time again that they simply are incapable of supplying that amount of fuel pressure and volume consistently in order to keep the VP as happy as possible.

The general consensus for fuel pressure over the past decade or so is no less than 15 psi at any time. That means with a fuel pump like a FASS 95 or 150 the idle pressure would be set around 18-19 psi. Even Bosch states that anything less than 10 psi is dangerous.

If you can get a pump for $1000.00 it will make your truck run reel good, Sorry Didn't mean to be a smart A$$
Why put a $100.00 pump in when you can get one for $700.00, Lots of guys here like to throw big dollars on their trucks, People on here run all kinds of pumps, You will learn to pick and choose your advice here.
I can tell you one thing from experience, STAY AWAY From Air Dog, Raptor I didn't, what a Piece of Sh$$ that is.
Whatever you get make sure you Feed that VP-44 all the fuel it wants.
It may run good now at 5psi, But that is slowly wearing out the VP-44, You will learn to keep the pump fed.
I run 14lbs of fuel press down the highway and about 16lbs at Idle, With 358000 miles on my second VP-44. Oh yea That's with a $100.00 Lift pump and a $25.00 filter system before the lift pump.
It could be a Long and expensive road ahead of you for that truck, Is it an automatic?

Fill out your signature,

Good Luck.
