Well guys i finally did it. I finished putting on the new VP last night at about 2 in the morning. Everything went pretty much ok. Only took me about 7 hours haha. I cheked thismorning and its not giving the death code anymore so i gues thats good. The only problem i think i may have is that it doesnt seem to have quite as much power any more. It also doesnt seem to smoke as much wen i put my foot in it. It litterally almost doesnt smoke at all. What could this be. I havnt put a new gasket on the intake horn and under the heater grid yet so i may be loosing a little boost there. but if figured if that were the case it would cause it to smoke more. Is it possible that my previous pump had a bigger fuel plate or something and if so how do i tell. HELP. Thanks guys

Your Vp was probably overfueling. Which isn't good over long periods of time. I hear ya on the replacement, I joined the club last week. Didn't take me 7 hours, but I hope it doesn't take you that long ever again.

122K when the dead pedal started, replaced lift pump the next week. Then 125K when I finally had to replace the VP44.

I dont know what the pressure is exactly but i have a warning light on it thats set to go off at like 15psi or 12 or something like that i cant remember so i know its good. I drove 400 miles with it yesturday. I had the same high idle problem as before and i also had the same dropping to idle with no power at all problem. It looks like I also have a bad APPS sensor. I sensed i had a bad one from the beginning but I hopped the new VP would fix it all but I gues not. Hopefully the bad TPS is whats not giving me the power. It litterally feels like its just not giving it the power so im really hoping its the APPS. I pulled the codes thismorning and got the 121 (the TPS code) and no longer had the 216 so i gues thats a good sign. IDK what do yall think
