Install mechanical oil pressure gauge

Install mechanical oil pressure gauge
Did the searches and determined that the oil pressure sensor was bad.
Go ahead and laugh, just like the other guys I just about crapped when I heard the ding and looked down to see "0" pressure on the gauge.
So I picked up a mechanical gauge (with mounting bracket, fittings, and nylon line). I also bought some copper tubing in case I decided to go that route, although I just read a thread here describing a copper tubing failure and how the nylon tubing was the way to go, less fatigue.
So here is the question...where is the best place to install the fitting on the engine to route it to the gauge in the cab? Nylon or copper tubing? How do I "bypass" the existing bad sensor so I don't get the "CHECK GAUGES" light or the annoying dinging?
I sure appreciate all advice!
