Install - HRS VP44, HRS FAAS

Install - HRS VP44, HRS FAAS
About 2 weeks ago, while driving up a stop sign, she just died. Turns out, the lift pump froze up, and starved the VP44. I tried having a FAAS installed before ordering a VP44 - no such luck, the VP44 is dead too. So I ordered a VP44 a week later, and hope to have all this behind me by this Friday. I was wondering what the average hours are for a mechanic who's experienced with install a FAAS, and hours to R&R a VP44?
2001 RAM2500 3/4TON LONG BED:
HRS FAAS install?
HRS R&R VP44?
I'd like to get an idea of what total cost is when I finally go to get my truck back on the road again.
Thanks,
DD

I assume you are talking about a FASS.
It takes me about 3 hours with a draw tube install for he FASS. And I get the VP44 done in about 2 hours.
Our shop rates are based on 4 hours for the FASS and 3 hours on the VP44 as issues can sometimes arise.

and if it is yout first time doing both you might wana plan a a few more then 2-3 hrs. for both, it took me prolly about 5 with my fass i took it slow and made sure i understood the directions b4 i did anything. that included taking out the old pump and filter and a break for some food now and then. and i havnt done the vp but im guessing it will prolly take about the same if you know what you have to do before you do it. maybe the youtube videos might help??? troubles will arise most of the time its just murpheys law.

The installation took me the better part of a day to complete it. If you install a gauge make sure you have adequate hose and wire lengths as well as appropriate fiitings, ie.. JEC -4, -2 fittings and a gear puller for the VP44 nut and gear.
