And you would have gotten 500K miles if you didn't add used oil to your fuel!

The IP's for 2001 and 2002 had some modifications done to overcome some of the galling and seizing problems. They tend to last a lot longer.

I put a Re-man pump on a 99 one time and it went 9 miles and took a dump. Seized up internally, sheared the key off in the gear. That always makes you look good even when it's a problem with the part.

The highest mile one I've seen in the shop had around 350K on it with the original pump that needed replacing.

144,000 so far. Using additive and a light oil with every fill up. 6oz additive and 2oz tranny fluid.

I found some wood.

110,000 miles on my original VP44 , 1 lift pump changed out at 75,000 miles. 60hp chip on from day one, and powerservice (16oz. )every fill up also since day one. Truck runs as strong as day one. Lubrication is key for longevity, especially with low sulphur fuel, and keeping tank at least 1/2 full for proper cooling of both pumps.

Ahhhhh, I thought that it was one of the 40k pumps and the extra lube from the drain oil kept it running

How you doing, put a barb in a post a while back and you didn't even respond Must have missed it.

Since I hooked up my FP gauge, I've watched my FP (at the IP schrader) fluctuate from an idle high of between 8 and 9 to just under 5 and WOT pressure at anywhere from 5 to 0. And occasionally, even 1/3rd thottle would drop it to zero. Was at cruise (70mph) yesterday and glaced at my gauge and it was at 0. I eased up on the throttle and it crept back up to 2 or 3. Then I looked at it again and it was around 5.

None of which can be right.....

Well there is another VP44 that bit the dust... Mine didn't even last another 800 miles then started to throw the P0216 code.... My previous LP was getting 11 PSI@idle, 8 PSI@cruise and 4 PSI@WOT

Thank goodness for a warranty! Both LP and IP were changed!

I got 99k, I'm on my 2nd LP and 1st IP, I don't tow, i change the fuel filter every other oil change. No perfomance box hookup up yet I have it but I figure I wait till warrenty runs out in 50k. So I guess I had lemon LP & IP pumps so far, I hope this lasts or I won't have the $3G to replace the IP next time and my rig will be parked for a looong time

I wouldnt use tranny fluid due to the friction modifiers. However I use Marvel Mystery Oil and it seems to work pretty good. I can actually here a difference if the tank does not have any in it and then I add it.
