injector puller
Is there a need to use a special tool when replacing injectors? I was looking through my OTC catalgue yesterday and came across a tool that prevents damage to the connector tube. Is this necessary? How are yous guys doing it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Screw one of the intake horn (or elbow) bolts into the top of the injector and pop it out with offset (bent) needle nose pliers. Pry and hold the fuel cross tube out of the way with a soft brass rod that's sharpened to grab the threads at the head surface.

FWIW
Stating the obvious here -
Pull the fuel cross tube out first.
I have used a pick to gently remove the tube and the bolt to remove the injector.
The ones I removed and replaced (@ 40k and then again at 50k) did not require very much force.
Good luck
