Injection Pump question...

Injection Pump question...
If the pump is going bad would that cause poor fuel milage.

I have a 2000 3500 5 speed empty best i get is 17 MPG fully loaded with 30 ft trailer... 10 MPG

Does that sound right?

Seems a little low. I'd be checking the MAP sensor and IAT sensor first. Try cleaning them with carb cleaner.

Sounds a bit low, if it has 4.10 gears and small tires, that might be as good as it's gonna get.

I have 4:10 gears in a 02 2500 4x4. I get 16 mpg and 11 towing my 22' toyhualer.

That was one of the things that happened before mine went out. Along with gradually increasing cranking time before starts.
