Inj pump bad

Inj pump bad
Truck would not start Sat morning. Took it to dealer today thinking bad lift pump. Lift pump checked ok but inj pump was bad. Good news is they are covering it under warranty but the bad news is it will be thursday before it is fixed. Any ideas why the inj pump would go since the lift pump was ok? Truck has 65k miles on it.

My lift pump was also ok, but I just ended up replacing my inj pump a few weeks ago. Couldn't tell you why it dumped out, but it did. There are some issues with the VP44's for sure, but I didn't think it would happen to me
