My manafold is cracked, think I should go with the three piece and what area of cost is involved?

And what the heck size is the IAT sensor or is it a special socket?

I'm not sure if your questions are related but these parts are nowhere close together. The IAT is the last connector on the drivers side of the block back towards the fire wall. Take off the wire connector and use a 13/16 size socket (I think the mm size is 21 or 22). When reinstalling torque to 10 ft lbs.

Go with the 3 peice. Mine cracked probobly 100,000 miles back. Total install at dealer was in the $500 range (yea I gat screwed like a house cat). The manifold gaskets were like $18 apeice!

If mine cracks again, Im going to 3. With the 3 peice you dont have to worry about it cracking again. Not to mention Ill do the install myself.

later
Is there a different one on some models or am I on the wrong sensor? Mine has a heavy plastic housing over the contact area and a large hex near the block and would require a deep socket. A 13/16 would not even go over the plastic area. The 27 goes over the plastic but is a little too small the fit the hex.

Re:IAT & Exaust manafold
Haulin, If you're still under 100k the warranty will cover the manifold. I'd let Dodge pay for it then fork out the cash to get the 3 piece later if necessary.

Stan

Re:IAT & Exaust manafold
I have over 170,000 and to the best of my knowledge the warranty ended 70,000 miles back. Hey there is good luck going also, the NV4500 is still going strong, od and all. I no longer have posi I think because of too much modifier, but other than that just normal wear and tear. Looks like some front end work is in store, tires not wearing as well this time, outside edge wear. The LUK Gold Pro is doing a great job also. I also am picking up a small vibration at 60 which is think is the beginning of U joint failure. I certainly have no complaints, still hauling 30,000 gross at 11 to 11 1/2 with the winter fuel... If I can afford to buy much more of it :'(

Re:IAT & Exaust manafold
I used an old spark plug socket that worked well in taking my IAT off. I figured that since I didn't have any sparkplugs to change, I might as well use it for something.
