Question I think its the transmission or breaks

Well, I am unsure exactly what is wrong with my pickup now but this just started recently, actually very recently because it just started last night. I started it to go to the store and here in my apartment complex we have a lot of speed bumps so I slow down to go over them but when I slowed down to go over the first one the pickup stopped and acted like it had shifted into neutral because when I reved up a little bit it didn't go anywhere and just sounded neutral but after a few seconds suddenly it bounces forward and goes back to normal so I am wondering.. are my breaks sticking or is my transmission going out?

-- It is first thing in the morning or at night after its been off for awhile that it does this.

-- another thing is has started doing is slowing down when I turn, without me pushing on the breaks it will slow down as a turn but once straight again i can feel it tug a little and will start to speed back up.

Watch tachometer, do rpms go up without truck accelerating?
Check for sticking brakes, just remove your wheels and see if calipers are sticking

That sounds like the TC slipping from low tranny fluid. Have you checked your tranny fluid level?

Check this first! I had a slipping problem only on left hand turns, sometimes it felt like the trans was binding when re-engaging. Combination of a dirty filter, dented pan, and low fluid level.

Its definatly not the breaks, the calipers, lines, and pads are all brand new and i hear the engine sounds higher like it does when shifted into neutral and when i come to a complete stop I will shift it into park then reverse and neutral then back to drive but it will not shift out until it is ready to do so... I am going to check my fluids tonight and I will let y'all know tomorrow what I find out I also plan on taking it to a tranny mechanic on monday

I checked and filled the tranny fluid but it is still shifting into neutral while going down the highway or when coming to a stop.. even when trying to take off. Its worse in the mornings when shes cold and when she warms up it doesnt occur as often but does still happen. Im taking her to a transmission guy today to take a look at her and see what he says, its becoming dangerous for me.

I had a leak in one of my transmission lines. According to the mechanic its a pressure leak and is on a bend so it cannot be sodered, it has to be replaced which thankfully is an inexpensive fix and he is going to service it while at it. He also recommends never having your tranny flushed.

I agree with the flushing bit but you do have to have the fluid changed and the filter changed so you can see what is in the pan. That is the only way you know what is wearing in the transmission, that and a test from Blackstone. Why would he even consider soldering a leaking line? Just replace it!
