While running my route usually on the last location I have a hard start which usually takes 5 seconds to crank. I have been in the past, if the truck doesn't start on the first turn over, just turning key to off position and restarting and it starts fine. It is weird because on the second time I start the truck it seems like nothing ever happend. My route is about 200 miles around the city of Houston and I make 5 stops. The stops are a good 25-30 miles apart and all Highway driving, As a matter of fact on the tollway. Once I exit to the location I let the truck idle for 2-3 minutes and do my business and come back out and crank it up. And mind you all, this only happens on my route when I have to crank, turn off, and recrank like 6 times. On a normal day I only start like twice.
I for some reason think it is the fuel pump on the fuel tank. I had experience with this once before in my 98 silverado. And the strangest thing is usually after about 1/4 of a tank that is does it the most. Do you guys have any suggestions or thoughts on what to do. Thanks Aaron

Could also be pin hole leaks in your return line, not enough to let Diesel out, but let's air in.

Oh, our Diesels don't have a pump in the tank, just 2 mounted to the engine.
