I found a block
Greetings all, I found a block to replace the cracked one I have. Just the block.
The current engine runs great, I get about 20+ mpg. All is well, it has 175k. As my mechanic gets ready to receive this block, obviously aside from the gaskets, what is going to be the biggest concern, as he transfers all the stuff from one to the other.
As you can tell, I am not mechanically inclined.
All this would be great, if only I didn't have the luck of the dreaded 53 crack. All your inputs will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Carlos

Where'd you get the block if you don't mind me asking ........... for those of us with the 53 and no problems yet. Obviously I have to keep sources in case mine gives up the ghost.

I'm going to order the bracket from Lock-N-Stitch. $500 but beats doing a whole block change. Just waiting for it to warm up so I can get under there to pull the turbo and drill the holes.
