HY35 change over to HX35W is it worth it??
I just recieved an almost new HX35W (12 hours of use) off of the 6.7l cummins industrial engine for free.
The question are:
1. The exhaust connection is different than whats currently on the truck, where can I find the correct adapter.
2. Will I have to change injectors to adjust for the correct fuel to air ratio, and what injectors would you reccomend.
3. Am I just dreaming that I'm going to get more power from this HX35W compared to the HY35 and this is a lost cause.

When we make that change with turbo's, we change the down pipe. ( the first section). Diesels don't operate with a specific air/fuel ratio. They are not throttled like a gas motor. But, I doubt if any change in power will be seen without adding a fueling box or injectors.

larger exhaust housing will allow for better flow, but you may experience a slightly slower spool. to get more boost you need two things: one is a mechanical change at the wastegate to allow more boost, two is an electronic boost fooler that will trick the ECM so you do not set an overboost code and defuel. most small fueling boxes have the boost fooler built it (EZ, Smarty, etc)
