How often should you adjust the valves

How often should you adjust the valves,

I did my 1992 every 50k or so. Those little valve covers came off easy, how do you get the big cover off, it looks like the cowling is in the way.

And....I have never done a 4 valve engine....is there any trick to it?

I did mine at 100K. The valve cover comes off easy, slide it up and out. It is a bit tight but no a big deal. Adjusting the valves was easy too. The whole job in less than a hour. Here is the link for directions with pictures.https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1

IT's just as easy as the 12 valve engine.

To get the valve cover off, undo the 5 bolts on the top. They are captive bolts so they will not come all the way out of the cover. After that pick it up and rotate the whole cover towards the exhaust manifold. Can be a little tricky to get out from under the cowling. Don't force it, just work and wiggle it out. And be careful not to tear the rubber gasket.

How to article for the whole thing here : https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1

150K on a 24 valve. Not going to hurt doing it sooner than that.
