How hard to add PTO to an 01, 4x4
Hey folks;
Got an 01, HO, 3500, how hard is it to add PTO to the t-case, and what is needed, I presume an engagement lever, some kind of output shaft, cover plate, etc.
I want to add hydraulics to my dump bed and already have the pto pump, ram, scissor lift, etc from another truck.
Thanks

I think the PTO cover plate is a option, I know on my 2002 3500 it is a listed option. As long as your transfer case has the mounting plate, it should be easy to bolt a PTO unit to it in order to run a hyd pump. If your T-case does not have the PTO access plate, you could run a 12V hyd pump unit.
You can find the 12V electric pumps in the truck bone yards on trucks with a hyd lift gate. The PTO drives and pumps can be found on old 5-6 yd dump trucks .

Thanks Guys, Yah after looking at the price of the PTO kit it will be cheaper to buy a 12v motor and adapter plate and run my current pump and hydraulics.
thanks again.
