How do I test my injector pump?
I cant get my injector pump to push any fuel out of the injector lines. I bumped the starter to get the lift pump to turn on and I unbolted the supply line the the injector pump and there is fuel to the pump. But when I crank over the engine no fuel comes out of the injector lines. Is there a way to test the pump for voltage or is there a fuse or relay that may be bad.
I friend has a super chip that I use to see if there were any codes in the computer and there are none.
What else can I check?
Erik

NoGo,
Very likely a dead LP. Just because you have fuel @ the VP doesn't necessarily mean all is well.
LP #3 did that for me. Just kind of ooozed out of a cracked banjo at the filter and nothing at the injectors.
That puppy needs to gush out at 15 psi. By the way, your sig shows gauges. Is a FP one of them?? if so what sort of pressure are you showing??
Good luck

I have only had the comp in for a month or so and haven't got a fuel pressure gauge yet. It is now on order.
When the starter is bumped how much pressure will the pump make if the engine is not running?
I did crack open 3 injectors at the head and cranked it over and no fuel.

From what I have learned Bosch made 27 upgrades to the VP44(hence the 027 pump) in the 4.5 yrs it ran. 99 was to be the first year of the 24v but they miscalculated sales and ran out of 12v early so late 98s ended up with them. I really dont know what the real #s are but I can say I havent heard of any early (98-99) VPs lasting with a wire tap box. From what I understand the 027s seem to be holding up(knock on wood ) I would suggest a fuel conditioner for extra lube along with your new FASS as your Comp is a drag version and it is even harder on the pump. Did you get any codes? If you have to replace your pump ensure you get a pump with all the updates and not a NOS 99 pump.

Is there a part # for the pump I should get. The guy I bought my truck from runs a injection pump service shop. I just want more info so I can make sure I get a pump that will last a long time. Is the upgraded pump called a 027?
No codes the truck just shut off.

NoGo,
You have to look at LP performance at WOT and fluctuations during drive/idle.
I'm understanding this is key on/bump starter with no engine run pressure
And where exactly did you install the gauge??
