Help Please - No Power

I have been noticing a decrease in power for several months now. I took it tio thje dealer and was told that I had an overboost code set. Dealer told me that the wastegate was not opening properly.

Symptons: Lack of power pulling 4000 lb trailer up slight grade
Seems to run out of rpms (Held truck at WOT tonight to pass a f*rd and truck stopped accelerating @ 2800 rpm)

Fuel Pressure reads 15 psi @ idle and 9 psi @ WOT. This is the pressures on both sides of the filter.

Codes in the system are P0500 & P1693.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did they fix the waste gate problem and clear the ECM?

Re:Help Please - No Power

Wastegate has not been fixed. I do not trust the dealer. I would rather hear suggestions from folks on this board.

The reasoning he said for the wastegate needing to be replaced is the high boost code and when he powerbrakes the truck and lets off the pedal quickly a popping sound is heard. This just did not sound right to me. I would like to hear others opinions.

I was also told that the whole turbo had to be replaced, not just the wastegate. Is this true??

Did he reset the codes and then do the powerbrake? If he did the powerbrake and let off fuel fast, I don't know about a popping sound. Mine makes a whooshing sound from the turbo when coming down off boost fast.

He did reset the codes after testing. He also rode with the the scanner hooked up and did see high boost pressures.

Is the truck stock or are you running some kind of box on it?

My first check would be a Boost/Map sensor they have been know to go out in the early year trucks. It's the sensor right behind the fuel filter on the engine block.
