i replaced my vp44 around july 13 and i had an air leak got that fixed and everything has been fine since. i went last monday to the car wash and when i was done washing it had a hard time starting. it starts fine when parked facing downhill so i thought the overflow valve was bad i put another one in and it still has trouble starting on level ground

nobody has any idea? if there is an air leak in the supply line will it start just fine facing downhill, or is it going to be return line related, or vp related?

Hey man, I am having the same problem. Haven't found a solution yet, but I am working on it. If I figure something out, I will be sure to let you know. I have a fuel pressure gauge in the mail, and when thats installed, I'm gonna try pressurizing the tank to look for leaks. Till then, you will find me on any slopey places I can find!

still havent figured out anything, but its got to be loosing prime somewhere because it fires right up when you have the nose pointing downhill

did you try loosening the fuel cap? heavy vacuum in the tank will pull fuel out of the IP

I am having the same issues. I have a new LP, new 3/8 fuel line tank to VP, a 2001 fuel filter housing, and pressure gauge pre filter.... In my case it does not matter if I park up or down hill,,,

When the problem started, It would only be hard to start in the morning, a few weeks later it got worse, and would crank and crank after sitting just 20 min.

I just put a check valve after the LP, it opens at 4psi, truck starts good after sitting a couple hours, over that, it cranks a bit longer, and overnight it is just as bad........

Have not found any definitive awnseres on here yet, many have replaced the VP with success, many have changed some O rings around the injectors but I am not sure what they mean by that, I have not had mine out yet... And many had success with changing the return fuel line???

When someone figures out the solution, please put it in the sticky how to...

Found a small leak in the return fuel line at the bajo fitting on the vp overflow valve.... I took it off and plugged the banjo with a bolt, put air pressure to it and voila the leak. small enough to let air in but not fuel out..

Replaced last night, and truck started like it should this morning...
