Mine is fairly loud. I can hear it when I turn the key, but not while the motor is running. I was hoping for a quieter pump and have checked and rechecked for leaks. The pitch changes when the grid heater kicks on.

My AD is only 3 months old and it is real quiet, hardly hear it at all when you bump the key and definitely cant hear it when the engine is running. 18 idle/17 cruise @ 55-65 and never below 15 @ WOT. I'm thinking about the Raptor100 for my chevy 6.5. Oh and customer servicer is great, thank to pureflow

Mine is quite, I can hear it when I first fire off the key, but once the motor kicks in, I cannot hear it. Have you tried calling the company and have one of their tech's walk through it with you? If it is a air issue, it would seem like you would see some other symptom as a result of the air leak, like low fuel pressure if you have a gauge.

Anyway, I would talk to the company and have a discussion with them. It is hard for me to believe the pump is louder then the truck, because my truck is loud. By the way don't forget to send in the warranty card. Good luck..

About 30,000 mi on mine. Pumps to 15# with key to run. No lower than 13# running. Mechanical gauge plumbed direct on the A pillar. No problem with AirDog - ever. Would definitely buy it again.

I have a warning light that goes off if the pressure goes below 6lbs. A gage works too.
