Having trouble and need to hear from owners of AirDog lift pumps.
My second factory lift pump dumped a couple weeks back. I'm disabled and no longer able to work on my truck myself. Had a local shop install an Air Dog lift pump, with install kit. This new pump is so loud I can hear it above the sound of my engine! Just a few days ago, the pump started to change tones! Getting a good bit louder than in the beginning and a much higher pitched sound. Then a few days ago the truck just stopped running on me while going down the street. Towed back to the shop. Took them about an hour to get it started and then they said they didn't know what they did to get it to run?? Anyone else having issue's with this pump / system? From what I'd read about them I thought it was supposed to be a pretty good outfit. They are going to put another pump on under the warranty (lifetime). If they ever get all the bugs out of the truck I doubt I'll ever let these guys work on my stuff again. They do not instill confidence. Didn't mean to write a book, thanks for any help guys.

I installed one couple yrs ago, it did fail about 8months later, pureflow sent me another, this one has 2500plus hours of use on it, its whisper quiet, cant hear it hardly at all when you bump the key and definitely cant hear it when the engine is running..
the orginal that failed started with weird psi drops when idling, and started making funny noises, edventually it kept blowing fuses. it had about 1500hrs(approx 150,000kms 1hr= 100km) on it when it failed.
anything thats electrical/mechanical can and will fail, I had a positive experience with pureflow, and would likely buy another if I had to.
I'd say the folks who installed it did something wrong as noise is usually associated with it sucking air somewhere.
I'd say your instinct is right, dont take your truck there any more, maybe post in your local chapter, as there maybe members local to you who can assist or send you to a reputable shop.

Do you guys have a fuel pressure guage hooked all the time where you can watch it? If not, how often do you check pressure as a check? Thanks.

i have had two pumps first failed after 3hrs second will not pump after truck starts. not to mention they did replace the first pump, cost me $120 in shipping.so i am to the point now that it is not worth the money to get replaced on warranty.my pumps were never loud though.

I have my fuel pressure gauge on the line that enters the VP. It's a mechanical gauge, and I just ran some fuel line to the gauge and have a valve on the line.

Have had mine for 1 1/2 years. Can barley hear it run when I bump the key - not at all when the tuck is running. 12 pounds solid from day one as monitored by my a pillar guage. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another (but wont need to with the excellent customer service).
Good luck.....

I had mine almost 1yr..yea..I know big deal??
I the only problem I have was at the start..the fuel pressure was low..at times less than 10psi..and as low as 5 inches of vacuum..
I got great support from the Folks at Aridog..the pump ran fine..no noise..well bump the starter and you could hear the pump running..not a problem..just low pressure..ended up by adding some washers to the check valve( the ball and spring)..it now run 19 at idle and I've seen 12 at WOT..but I think the filter might be going..normally its over 15psi.
I WOULD BUT A ANOTHER ONE TOMORROW..IF THEY MADE ONE FOR A JEEP LIBERTY CRD..SOLD!!(got one yet?)
