Question The great 0216 Code

I checked my truck for codes the other day and 0216 showed up, I removed my added power box and stoped by auto zone and they cleared the code. I have driven the truck 200 miles so far and the code has not come back. So the question is was the code set by the box or is it a warning sign that the pump is on its way out. The truck runs fine no loss of power or fuel mileage still getting 19-20mpg done by hand.

This is bothering me, you are like the 8th 2002 year model truck in the past 2 weeks i've seen {including mine} with a dead or dying VP-44...D-C what is going on?

I don't think the pump is dying at this point, it looks more like the power box played a part in producing this code and not the pump itself. I have not checked the LP pressures yet but even if the pump is inop it should not cause a timing code.
