Pulling away from the toll booth and the truck just quit running.

When i pulled over ( not to easy with engine not running) i turned off key and back on everything seems to cycle the correct way but it wont start.

Cranks fine ........My fuel pressure is fine.

Is there anything i can do myself so i dont get beatup to much when i bring it somewhere...

Check engine light stays on continuesly........

Gonna call a place here in NJ called........ Extreme Diesel Performance hopefully have towed there....

Are you sure you have plenty of fuel in the tank?


Since you have a check engine light, it's most likely something else though.
Your '99 needs to be hooked to a scanner to pull the codes.
Performance Diesel place may or may not have a scanner.

Hopefully turns out to be something cheap and simple like a crank/cam sensor.

Yea plenty-o-fuel..........

I also replaced the crank position sensor already about a mth ago....

It threw the light on that and the dealer i bought it from scanned it and was supposed to fix but i didnt have time to wait so did it myself....

Cheap would be good since i just paid 120.00 for the tow....

I just lost my VP in a similar manor. IT sucks but........make it a good thing by replacing it with a Hot Rod VP44. I really am glad I did, I am all smiles again
