Got a hissing sound, but cannot find it
It seems to be coming from the drivers side when the engine is @ idle,I have checked all the intercooler boots and they are tight.
The trucks runs perfect and the boost is still @ 35 PSI@full throttle.
Other people here it and tell me I have a tire leaking air,but I don't..
Any ideas???
Thanks

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Re:Got a hissing sound,but cannot find it
If it hisses at idle that gives you a good chance to find it. Here is a suggestion. With the engine idling take the cardboard tube from something like a paper towel roll. Hold the end of the roll to one ear and wave the other end around different parts of the engine. Using this method you should be able to find the area that gives the loudest sound. Other things work just as well such as a pice of rubber pipe. A smaller diameter pipe may help to pin down the hiss to a smaller area. A longer pipe makes it easier to check.
Let us know what you find.

Might want to check the torque on the intake horn bolts... I think it is 18 ftlbs, but check me on those specs.

Might just be the sound of refrigerant flowing through the orifice tube exiting the condenser behind the grille. It will also happen for a minute after the truck is shut off, as the pressures equalise. Just a thought.

I was thinking it was the A/C because I had to recharge it a few weeks ago,but it is still ice cold, but it must be leaking to lose freon, but it is an awful loud hissing.
I used a long plastic pipe and it is the loudest on drivers side just below the firewall towards the top of the tranny.
I crawled under it while it was running and I can sure hear it,but I cannot find it.
I think if it was the A/C it would not work since I rechared it about 7 weeks ago and it is still ice cold.
I am going to check the exhaust and the intake bolts next..
