Gasket for gear case cover?
I have to change the front crank oil seal on my truck and was wondering if a gasket was available for the cover. Cummins says there is no gasket listed for my truck. Engine is a 99.5 24v ISB, ser no. 56506574. I prefer to use a gasket if it is available, if not I will use a gasketmaker.
I will check for the kdp when I have the cover off.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

I got the KDP kit from Genos Garage, I got it for the seal and it comes with everything you need for the KDP tabbing. The RTV provided in the kit is the hi-temp grey gasket maker. I'm sure the blue will be fine too as long as it's hi-temp. I've used the blue and red alot in the past and never had any leaking problems.

I have ultra copper, so that is what I will use on the cover. I will also apply red loctite on the case-to-block bolts and torque them down.
I have read the instructions TST provides for its KDP kit. I was thinking of just using a punch to deform the aluminium of the gear case around the pin to prevent it from coming out.
I am also changing out my radiator at the same time, so once the rad is pulled I will have plenty of access to the gear case.
