Fuel pressure isolator and fittings ..?

Doin my gauges this weekend and have a question........I bought the Autometer Z Force gauges.....My FP kit comes complete with everything except the fuel line to the Isolator....

Ok so i need a #4 AN fitting to screw into the fuel filter housing correct? What thread is that?

Which plug should i remove/use...?

And i think i read that i should mount the isolator on the motor?,,,is this correct?

going to order a premade line from Summit i guess.....Keep it all the S/S line........

I strongly suggest that you not use the isolator and plumb the line directly to the gauge. Isolators have been known to fail and give false readings.

You should pull the reading from the post fuel filter port (which ever one that is). If I'm correct, the fitting size is -6 AN. That should screw directly into the housing with no problems. If you getting the tapped banjo from wherever you ordered the banjos from, then you will have the perfect size. The tapped banjo hole (the fuel pressure gauge hook up point) is 1/8" NPT.

The FP gauge in my '99 is hooked up post-filter in this picture.

IIRC, the fitting on the top of the filter housing is 1/8 NPT.
I use a needle valve to reduce buzzing in the gauge.

I put a shut-off valve on mine, just in case I ever was out on the road and got diesel in the cab or had a leak, I could just shut it off and continue on my way. You might want to consider something like that.

Nope, no isolator,.....2 years and not a drip.

Quality parts helps makes a quality install.

Shovelhead,
So your FP line screws right into the back of the Isspro EV ? I didn't realize the guage could handle diesel fuel going into it.
I got my EV FP guage, still waiting on the EGT & boost.

I'll answer for him, since I have the same guage, plummed the same way.
(well, almost, the 2002's don't have the ports on top of the filter, but on the bottom)

Yes, right into the back of the guage.

Only 3 months though, but no leaks.

I also have the needle valve to dampen the pulses, and cut off fuel if a leak should develop.

The ISSPRO's are the only gauges that I know of that are specifically rated to handle diesel fuel.
