fuel level gauge

Angry fuel level gauge

Fuel level is always on E, changed out the float inside the tank and still nada, yesterday I changed out my alternator and on start up fuel level went up to F and slowly back to E, any ideas, this really SUX!

sounds like a loose wire

Haven't checked on the ram but standard procedure is to ground wire where it connects to the float. Gauge should move to one extreme. It means gauge and wiring is working. Next pull float & arm through the range measuring resistance. Resistance change should be smooth with no skipping. 01 FSm with wiring diagram & specifics of test is no line for free.
