fuel leak around filter housing

I smelled diesel this morning while starting up. I looked and saw a good leak coming from fuel filter housing and fissing a little out of top. So I replaced fuel filter and leak slowed. Now it is still leaking slower from around housing. Anybody had this happen. What do you think. Thanks

Do you think that the plastic lid could be cracked?

I found leak right around plastic cover that bolts to fuel filter housing. I had someone install fuel guage. I think they bumped it. I wonder if its warrantied. I could not visibly see cracks though. Someone said I may have to replace whole fuel filter housing. I just bought the truck for petes sake. Also the lift pump. OH for a reliable truck as a whole.

water in fuel separator

Do you have a lever near the bottom of the fuel filter housing? This would be the water in fuel separator. Perhaps whoever installed your gauges unseated the valve slightly. Try reseating the lever. If it seems seated then you should be able to replace the sensor without having to purchase a whole new filter housing. I am sure someone else will correct me if I am wrong. Good luck.

Its not the lever. Its above on the front side. It is the plastic sensor cover that connects to housing. I think it may have been cracked by the person who installed the fuel guage set up. I just hope they can replace it without replacing the whole fuel filter housing.

AFAIK every sensor and fitting is replaceable on the fuel filter housing. Here are some pictures I have of the Fuel filter out of the truck. Which piece is leaking?
