Yeah, mine wouldn''t start after my second filter change and I had to crack a couple injector lines. Now I just do as I outlined and haven't had a problem w/ starting after a filter change. Torkmnstr, I got three feet of clear fuel line and extended my drain hose down so I could put the bucket under it and catch the fuel. This works pretty good and its cheap! Kurt

You had to crack more than one????????

I've heard of it, but never met anyone who needed to crack more than one.

The Dodge tech in town told me to crack #2 and #4 IIRC.

I use my fuel pressure gauge as a priming tool. I screw it on the schrader valve on the vp44 and hold open the bypass/bleed button untill the lift pump clears all the air out. Never takes more than one bump of the starter and always fires right up. I also get to see what kind of pressure the VP's getting.

Fuel filter

The plastic nut on top of the fuel filter housing is 1 1/8", you will need to use a 8" extension on your 1/2" drive ratchet. The new filter comes with a new o ring gasket for the housing cap.

I just noticed this thread and there are a few things a disagree with. First off I have never ever had to bump the starter more then twice after changing a fuel filter, most of the time I only do it once, trucks fire up and run fine after a few sec (the air should get out of the system fairly quickly). There should be no reason for the IP to drain back and for the line to be cracked at the injectors in order to start the truck. This is with stock lift pumps also as not many customers have an aftermarket unit. If I do find some dirt in the bottom of the fuel canister I use a wet/dry shop vac to suck it all out.
