I guess I should have been more clear, I don't run window screen which is 1/16" but rather 1/8" hardware cloth.
I've noticed no difference on my intake air temp gauge with or without the screen.
Even with window screen the restiction has to be less than coolers full of bugs.

Hardware cloth is the common name for screen.
Usually anything courser than window screen is called hardware cloth.
Either word will get you what you want usually.

Hardware cloth usually is a heavier guage wire than screen, with the intersections welded, brazed, or soldered instead of just a woven screen. Openings are usually square with a gradation # or the side length as the size. 1/8 would have a square opening of 1/8" by 1/8". Hardware cloth is much sturdier than most screens, making it useful for building wire cages, lower fencing sections, etc. I have used it buried and running out from garden fencing to deter animals from digging under the fence. My Grandpa used to use it for the same reason around his chicken yard.

Thats a big reduction when you think of only letting your engine breath 40% of what it needs. This is why I don't run a screen infront of my grill. Like I said, just a thought to ponder.

1. The truck it moving though the air at 55-75 MPH... Different than just sitting at a stop.
2. The fan will help pull the air though the screen and coolers... At slower speeds..
I was also warned about the screen in fornt of the cooler... So I pulled it out until I can figure a better way... Soon enough I will get tired of clean the coolers...
If I do figure out a way... I might have to make on for the bike to keep the bugs out of it's radiator and my teeth... (Spit!)

I also have always used screen on my rigs to block bugs and rocks, much easier to clean grill and screen with just garden hose, than trying to clean condenser/rad continually. Pressure washer ok IF you don't get too close and dent/bend fins(decreases cooling capabilities). Screen on grill stops virtually all bugs/rocks from getting onto condensor/rad.
