Fleetguard (standard or STRATAPORE??)

Re:Fleetguard (standard or STRATAPORE??)
There are actually THREE Fleetguard filters that have been specified for these trucks. The garden variety (non-stratopore / non-micro glass) Fleetguard which is the same as the MOPAR filter, the Micro Glass filter which is ONLY approved for the 12 valve engine, and the Stratapore which is specified for 12 and 24 valve engines. As I understand it the Micro Glass filter media does not like the high start-up pressure that is characteristic of the 24 valve engines.

Re:Fleetguard (standard or STRATAPORE??)
well have been hearing alot here about new engines after bad filters etc. i had fram and took it to dc to be put on they would not do it and gave me some bull and sb info from dc on fram. the gist is they had a problem with one (1) or two engines going out do to a clogged oil tip.dc jumped on this and sold more of their twelve dollar filters. i contacted fram and they said yes they had a prblem and it had been taken care of in the material and design of their filter . no i don't use fram or stratapore,Which is grown substance by fleetguard/cummins).i use a commercial grade filter sold by oilfilter service company that supplies filters to trucking company's.its a baldwin filter for $6.80 keeps my oil clean. If your filter meets the industry standards and cannot be directly found to have caused engine failure then dc has to honor your warranty.
